Our Legacy

Built on the foundations of titans in British cinema history

Our Studio Way campus is built on the former site of MGM British-Elstree where groundbreaking titles of the 1960s and 70s were filmed including The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Where Eagles Dare, and The Dirty Dozen.

Literally and figuratively. We are based squarely in the centre of the Elstree and Borehamwood production community, famous for developing projects for titans of the industry such as Stanley Kubrick (Barry Lyndon), George Lucas (Star Wars) and Steven Spielberg (Indiana Jones).

To this day members of the community involved in the rich tapestry of productions produced in Elstree & Borehamwood have provided extensive learning opportunities for our students, sharing legacy tools and practices. We are also proud to provide a home to the Picture Projection Trust who refurbish and exhibit vintage cinema projection technologies for future generations.

Our
Ethos

We are a new kind of institution; one that specialises in behind-the-scenes media production, digital communications and entertainment technologies for 14+ year olds.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure strong foundations in fundamental academic subjects and build on these with vocational, expressive and industry relevant studies. We support our taught curriculum with our extended projects offer. Our industry partners, along with our own media production company provides opportunities for students to experience working in the technical arts and culture industry.
