Signing off 2023 with a BIG Partnership ‘thank you’

Elstree Screen Arts is up to something special! In 2021 we partnered with ScreenSkills to become a UK Centre for Screen Excellence - offering a certified traineeship in TV and film CraftSkills. Since then, more than 140 trainees have graduated as entry level Grips, Editors, Hair & Makeup Artists, Costume Assistants, Art Department and Production Assistants. These 8 month courses are entirely free and provide industry access to young people whatever their background or story whether they are under represented, disadvantaged or brand new to the creative sector. Our trainees work on real industry projects and experience up to 12 weeks working with real industry partners. Our graduates have since gone on to work on major movies, TV, streamers and for production houses, costumiers, studios and art departments.

This is only possible because of our valued industry partners. We have over 30 companies supporting this programme providing placements and mentoring. We know from professional experience that credits on real productions and experience inside the industry are the magic ingredients that provide opportunity to new creative talent. Without support from our friends and partners, we would not be able to train such promising future creatives and serve the talent pipeline for the creative sector.
